What are your favorite things in life? Where does your mind go in a daydream? What makes you happy?

We’re all so similar in so many ways.  We like to laugh, eat, be with friends and loved ones, and be loved ourselves.  We smile more on a beautiful day.  We like to imagine how nice and warm it would be to sit on a white sandy beach on some tropical island.  A cold and rainy day is better with a good book.  And always, we like to laugh again, eat again, and spend more time with the people we love.

Themes in my paintings reflect that range of simple, shared desires.  They illustrate where I want to go at that moment in my thoughts and daydreams.

As it happens, I paint a lot of food.  Right now I’m working on a still life with guacamole, salsa, tacos, and margaritas.  Fall is coming - bring out the pot roast.  Just like there’s not enough time to read all the books you want (or try all the dishes you’d like), there’s not enough time to paint all the pictures, either.
